Origin of peanuts
Peanuts are legumes and, contrary to the root of the word, do not grow underground but above ground on the flowers of the plants. As soon as the fruit can no longer develop above ground due to its own weight, it goes underground, forms its hard shell and, inside this, its fruiting body, which is further protected by a thin shell and a net.
They are native to warm regions such as South America and Asia. Our peanuts are sun-dried to preserve their natural flavours and vitamins.
Use of peanuts
Raw, wild and classic peanuts can be snacked on their own or eaten together with other dried fruits and nuts. They are also suitable in muesli, salads and other dishes. They also come into their own in drinks such as smoothies or cocoa.
