Our raw organic cashew nuts are an excellent addition to a healthy diet and a very good source of minerals such as copper, magnesium and phosphorus. They also contain a significant amount of the valuable amino acid tryptophan* - the precursor of serotonin. Grown by small farmers under fair conditions in Indonesia, individually hand-picked and certified as "really raw" by an independent body - this is what characterises our cashews.

Cashew nuts are popular with health-conscious people of all ages due to their versatility and especially their high mineral content. The copper they contain contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system and helps to protect cells from oxidative stress. Magnesium is required for normal muscle function and helps to reduce tiredness and fatigue.
Cashew kernels: Fair cultivation by small farmers in Indonesia
Our cashew nuts are grown by small farmers in Indonesia who provide the cashew tree with the best conditions for growth. The cashew tree bears bright yellow, pear-shaped pseudo-fruits, the cashew apples. The actual cashew nut sits under the kashu apple. Most of the fruit is buried under the tree as natural fertiliser, which promotes sustainable agriculture. Processing takes place on the same day as harvesting and the nuts are cracked and the shells removed on site using traditional manual labour. The nuts are not heated, so they remain raw and all the valuable nutrients are preserved as much as possible. They are then gently dried at low temperatures below 45 °C. And this is even independently tested and confirmed with the Really Raw seal.
Buying organic cashews: best in raw food quality
Cashew nuts in raw food quality are particularly natural and are neither steamed nor heated in any other way. Due to the very gentle drying process, they have a higher residual moisture content than commercially available cashews, which are processed at very high temperatures. Our raw cashews are therefore slightly softer. Another quality criterion is the colour: the skin of very light cashews is usually removed using a steam jet. Keimling Cashews are cracked without heat and the skin is removed by hand. Thanks to the skill and experience of the local families, there is no need to worry about the possible consequences of leaking oils.

Die Cashews von Keimling sind sehr lecker und funtionieren wunderbar zum selbst herstellen von Cashewfrischkäse. Sie sind jedoch weniger knackig als andere Cashews, wahrschienlich weil sie nicht unter Hitzeeinwirkung getrocknet wurden. Ausserdem ist das 5kg-Pack leider nicht vakuumverpackt.
