Pressing oil fresh yourself, a logical consequence?
How important to us are healthy, high-quality ingredients for our salad, fresh green smoothie or our favourite celery juice. We would never resort to alternatives and packaged variants from the shop. In addition to enjoyment, we are also concerned about our health. However, when it comes to another ingredient in health-conscious cooking, we have become accustomed to tinned products over the years: cooking oils.
Yet it is now so easy to produce these important foods freshly at home using handy oil presses. Home-pressed oils made from untreated ingredients cannot be compared with commercially available oils, whether in terms of freshness, flavour or nutrient content. With your own oil press, you can produce high-quality oils of fantastic variety and unrivalled freshness at home to your heart's content. The Wartmann WM-2002 OP oil press makes pressing in the kitchen convenient, safe and varied, even for beginners. The advantage of self-pressing: you always know which ingredients are in the oil - and which are not. Explore the world of edible oils with oils for every day, create intensely aromatic nut oils, refined with lavender, rosemary or a pinch of chilli and more. Have you ever thought about making your own natural body care products? Here too, the Wartman oil press is an excellent choice.
Oils from your own press are particularly valuable
The valuable polyunsaturated fatty acids in natural oils have a particularly long shelf life. Edible oils are often treated with heat and solvents to increase yield and shelf life. What falls by the wayside are flavours, vitamins and the fatty acids mentioned above. So what could be better than always having your favourite natural oils fresh in the house? Oils tend to deteriorate rather than improve due to long storage times, with your own oil press you can produce the quantities you need in a week or two - it couldn't be fresher.
The Wartmann oil press is perfect for this. With a basic supply of different oilseeds and a portion of exploration, your kitchen becomes a gourmet oil mill. In addition to classic varieties such as rapeseed, sunflower, walnut and pumpkin seed oil, you can also create your own variations with the Wartmann oil press. How about an exotic oil made from almonds and ginger or a rosemary and sunflower seed oil? Chop all oleaginous fruits larger than peanuts with a knife or blender. This trick means that there are no restrictions on your choice of oilseeds and nuts.
The Wartmann oil press also produces raw food quality
With the electric oil press from Wartmann you can press a wide variety of oils to a high raw food quality. During our tests, we developed a very simple method to achieve an oil outlet temperature of less than 40° C with the Wartmann oil press.
Small seeds from the size of sesame seeds can be pressed whole. Larger ingredients such as almonds or walnuts should be chopped before pressing to achieve an optimum oil yield. We were also able to press black cumin oil and poppy seeds with the Wartmann. Unfortunately, chia seeds do not reach us as they seem to be too small for household oil presses such as the Wartmann WM-2002 OP.
By the way: You won't break a sweat cleaning the Wartmann oil press either: The press cylinder can be easily removed and cleaned for rinsing.
Automatic programmes for optimum processing
Whether you like to experiment or not, a well-stocked kitchen also needs a supply of "standard oils". And with these, creativity is less important than fast and reliable results. To this end, the Wartmann WM-2002 OP has seven practical programmes, two more than the previous model. This allows you to press six fixed seeds, such as sesame, walnuts, sunflower seeds, linseed, peanuts, rapeseed and a programme for other, unspecified seeds, even without prior knowledge. The programmes differ in the preheating temperature for the press cake outlet and the pressing speed. The actual pressing process requires no further assistance from you, apart from refilling the press. Incidentally, the appliance holds approx. 300 g of oilseeds, which are then gradually processed, while the oil press impresses with its quiet operation and consistent quality at all times.
The skin also enjoys high-quality DIY oil
Once you have learnt to appreciate the preparation of cooking oil, you can take it to the next level and make your own skincare products: For nourishing soaps, massage and bath oils or hair masks, natural high-quality oils are a welcome nourishing ingredient that your skin and hair will be happy to receive. With all the healthy application possibilities, your wallet will also be happy.
Further use of the press cake
The press cake does not have to be disposed of. It can be used in a variety of ways as a valuable source of protein. For example, it can be used to thicken soups, as a topping on salads, for making muesli bars or granola, for baking bread or cakes.
Beware, oil pressing can be addictive! With the further improved Wartmann oil press WM-2002, creative cooking and care oils in raw food quality can be produced right from the start.
Yield
Many of our customers use the Wartmann oil press at home to freshly press linseed oil, which is rich in Omega 3. Our tests have shown that 75 g of oil can be pressed from 250 g of linseed.
