Cedar nut butter, the creamy discovery from Siberia

Less well-known than the popular pine nuts, but at least as tasty and valuable are the seeds of the wild Siberian stone pine, which also belongs to the pine family. Don't have the time or inclination to grind our delicious Keimling cedar kernels yourself? Then simply choose the ready-to-cook organic cedar nut butter!

From the unspoilt forests of Siberia

The kernels for our nut butter come from the Siberian stone pine. This tree species, which grows up to 40 metres high, is also known as the "pearl of the taiga". Its seeds taste nutty, with a slight resin note and subtle sweetness and have a slightly more intense flavour than pine nuts. The trees for our harvest mainly grow far away from any civilisation in the vastness of the Siberian taiga, the largest untouched forest area on earth. The hand-picked, roundish kernels are carefully ground in cooled granite mills according to raw food standards in order to preserve the incomparable flavour and valuable ingredients in the best possible way.

Rich in protein, vitamin E and iron

The care taken during harvesting and processing not only pleases the palate, but also the body: our cedar nut butter contains natural vegetable protein, unsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E and iron. Vitamin E protects the body's cells from oxidative stress, while iron contributes to normal energy metabolism and a functioning immune system, among other things. Incidentally, the untreated nut butter contains no emulsifiers or preservatives. Visible settling of the oil in the jar is not a defect, but on the contrary a sign of quality!

We bet the delicious Keimling cedar nut butter will inspire you to come up with creative recipe ideas. Use it as a classic spread or as a base for homemade cedar nut milk. But you are also guaranteed to love cedar nut butter in dressings, creams and dips, as a topping in salads, on muesli and porridge or as a delicious cedar nut drink!

Why are cedar kernels so healthy?
Cedar nut kernels are a valuable plant-based source of protein with a very high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids (93.3 % of total fat). They contain vitamin E, which helps to protect the body's cells from oxidative stress. The high iron content of cedar nuts enables normal energy metabolism, supports the normal formation of red blood cells and contributes to the normal function of the immune system.
Are cedar nuts pine nuts?
Like the pine tree (Pinus pinea), the Siberian stone pine (Pinus sibirica) belongs botanically to the pine family. While pine nuts have an elongated shape, Swiss stone pine seeds are roundish.
What do cedar nuts taste like?
Our untreated cedar nut kernels from Siberian wild harvesting taste nutty with a mild sweetness and are characterised by a slightly resinous note. This makes their flavour somewhat stronger overall than that of pine nuts.

Unerwarted Mild

Ich bin begeistert. Ich fange gerade erst an Nussmus auszuprobieren. Gerade Zedernussmus hat mich angesprochen. Unerwartet mild und lecker. Ich habe es bereits weiterempfohlen.
