The green source of vital nutrients: raw pistachios

The green kernels are a highly valued source of vitamin E, vitamin B1 and folic acid and provide potassium, calcium, magnesium and iron. About half of pistachios consist of mostly unsaturated oils.

Thanks to their wide range of nutrients, pistachios are healthy. Vitamin E helps to protect cells from oxidative stress and iron, for example, is needed for the normal functioning of the immune system.

Raw pistachios: Unroasted and unsalted

It is the unique flavour that makes pistachio kernels so special. This cultivated plant, which has been around for thousands of years, was once reserved for royalty. Today, pistachios are extremely popular thanks to their exquisite flavour - sweet, aromatic and slightly reminiscent of almonds.

But why should this wonderfully unique flavour be diminished by roasting or salting? Our pistachio kernels are unroasted and we don't add salt to them either. They have raw food quality - from the tree to the bag. In this way, we preserve the valuable ingredients and flavour in the best possible way. Raw pistachios taste very fine and less intense, as neither roasted flavours nor salt mask the natural taste.

The pistachios come from a small co-operative in Spain, which pays particular attention to the processing temperature. The La Mancha growing region is known for its optimal climatic conditions. It produces exceptionally high quality pistachios.

The pistachio is also known as the "green almond"

Thanks to their simultaneously spicy and sweet flavour, pistachio kernels enrich both savoury and sweet dishes. The flavour of pistachios, which is reminiscent of almonds, gave them the nickname "green almond".

Organic pistachios refine a wide variety of dishes

Their green colour makes them particularly popular as a decoration. Decorate your desserts or chocolates with chopped pistachios. This adds a delightful splash of colour to your creations. As a topping for ice cream or in muesli - pistachios are incredibly versatile in the raw food kitchen.

Strictly speaking, the pistachio is not a nut, but a stone fruit. Pistachios are surrounded by a hard beige shell. They are harvested in September and October. When ripe, the shell splits into two halves, revealing the green kernel. The pistachios are harvested in this state and are often roasted and salted afterwards.
