A Christmas special with recipes for fine festive pastries rounds off the book, which appeals to both beginners and more experienced (amateur) bakers with step-by-step instructions, labelling of the recipes according to difficulty, a glossary and index.

Baking vegan means finding suitable substitutes for the classic main ingredients eggs, butter and dairy products. Estella Schweizer presents the vegan alternatives knowledgeably and with many practical tips regarding their processing options. The various sweeteners and flours, from wholemeal to white, are also described and assessed in terms of their baking properties and possible uses. If you are gluten intolerant, you will find what you are looking for in the gluten-free flour mixes and can use the recipes accordingly. The author presents numerous basic recipes so that sponge or biscuit doughs without eggs, quark-oil doughs without quark and frostings without butter or cream are a success.

The cakes, tarts, creams and the like are based closely on the original in terms of appearance and flavour. For some recipes, Estella Schweizer has opted for a freer, more creative interpretation: for example, the classics Crema Catalana, Panna Cotta, Donauwelle and Mozartkugeln surprise with a special culinary twist. What all the recipes have in common is that they use natural, everyday ingredients. The book is also intended to inspire an intuitive and creative approach to ingredients, quantities and flavours - and in this way serve everyone, whether vegan, vegetarian or flexitarian, their slice of the cake.

Estella Schweizer, born in 1983, lives in Freiburg. After studying medicine, her interest in nutrition led her to the restaurant trade via occupational therapy,

followed by years of self-employment in the catering industry. After "Do something! Spontan Vegan", "Sweet World! Vegan" is her second book in the Greenpeace Magazine Edition.
