Chufas or tiger nuts are the roots of a type of grass. They were already cultivated in ancient Egypt and were considered particularly valuable. Tiger nuts have a satiating effect. They have a wonderfully mild almond flavour and have been refined with the best orange oil for this delicacy. A treat for the palate and the body!

The word confectionery is associated with the sugaring of fruit by apothecaries at the end of the Middle Ages. At that time, sugared fruit was regarded as medicine. The fruit in our confectionery is not sugared. We use the word confectionery to describe a special kind of (raw) delicious treat.
