, agricultural economist Manfred Görg, founder and Managing Director of Dr. Goerg, travelled to the Philippines for the first time, where his passion for coconuts was sparked. "I organised various survival training courses in the Philippine jungle and ate a lot of coconut there, which is considered a guarantee of survival in Asia," explains Görg. "It is digestible, easy to digest and extremely beneficial." From there, he brought six litres of coconut oil back to Germany and distributed it in small portions to friends and acquaintances. The first positive feedback quickly followed.
The business idea was born: Manfred Görg wanted to bring high-quality, 100% pure coconut food to the market - without additives or sugar. The top sellers in the past and today are coconut oil, coconut water, coconut milk and coconut blossom sugar. The raw materials are freshly harvested in the Philippines in accordance with strict quality standards. The company has developed a deep understanding of the local population through its annual visits there. This is an important reason for focussing on transparent, fair and ecologically sustainable production of high-quality organic coconut products. The conditions for small farmers and harvest workers in the Philippines should also be absolutely fair and transparent. The "Fair Trade for Fair Life" initiative is therefore at the heart of the company's local social commitment: a collaboration with producers, suppliers and customers that is characterised by fairness, transparency and respect. In addition, Dr. Goerg for various local aid projects: from person to person and by helping people to help themselves.
"Critical customers not only pay attention to products, but also to the values according to which they were manufactured," says Manfred Görg with conviction. "I firmly believe that if you give good things from the heart, good things will come back." Mindfulness and gratitude are his life motto throughout. The company boss is certain that his customers appreciate the glimpse behind the scenes and that the fair and transparent treatment of resources, land and people ultimately also determines the product quality. With its "Premium Organic Coconut Oil Standard", the market leader clearly exceeds the requirements of the growers' associations for organic certification and the minimum requirements of the "Philippine National Standard for Virgin Coconut Oil (PNS)". Of course, the finished coconut oil can only be as good as the original raw materials.
The cultivation conditions of the coconut palms and the processing of the coconuts are two of the most important criteria for the quality and purity of the coconut oil. Manfred Görg prioritises environmentally conscious and sustainable farming. The palm trees are grown exclusively in mixed cultivation in order to preserve the fertile land for future generations - pesticides or artificial fertilisers are consistently avoided.
You won't find any hidden additives or even a single drop of palm oil at Dr. Goerg. Only what's on the label is what's inside. "The end consumer is often deceived by false promises on competitors' labels," says Görg, "with us, the quality promises are not just on the label, they are actually in the jar! Before I produce badly, I'd rather not produce at all. That is the standard I set for myself and my company.". The company does not have to resort to false promises, as it only offers its customers what it would offer its own family. And that is the highest quality, based on sustainability, respect and love for the product, the country of origin and the people.
Managing Director Manfred Görg has no shortage of innovative ideas; the range is constantly expanding and impresses with far more than "just" coconut products. Görg has also cracked the nut and today offers its customers a large selection of
100 % pure nut butters, spreads, various syrups and more.
However, the organic products have everything in common: freshness, purity, an incomparable flavour and a short list of ingredients that everyone can understand - 100% natural products completely without additives or refined sugar, produced in a nutrient-preserving way and ideal for a conscious plant-based diet.
