Product information "Alvito Filter insert ABF Primus CLC"
Concentrated power: activated carbon filter block paired with EM ceramics and limescale protection granules
The ABF Primus CLC filter insert utilises the activated carbon filter block of the ABF Primus EM including "EM ceramics" (Effective Microorganisms) and is also filled with a special limescale protection granulate inside, which reduces limescale deposits on surfaces and in household appliances. This granulate, which is built into the filter insert, converts some of the dissolved limescale into larger, stable calcite crystals. During this "catalytic" process of limescale conversion, no substances are released into the water, nor is the limescale filtered out. Hard to imagine - the lime remains in the water and yet there are structural changes that result in some changes that we were able to see in our tests: There is significantly less residue in water bottles, carafes, kettles, on taps, tiles, etc. If deposits do form over time, this limescale does not become stubbornly attached to the surfaces. Any deposits that do form are much easier to remove and the cleaning effort is reduced. Household appliances (kettles, coffee machines, etc.) are also protected. The ABF Primus CLC is therefore the right filter insert if stubborn limescale residues are to be reduced and the filtered water is also to be activated and revitalised by EM ceramics, the effect of which can be seen in the fresher and softer taste.
Optional use of the Viva water whirler
Nevertheless, this filter insert can be easily combined with the Viva water whirler to bring even higher quality water into your household. In principle, the Alvito filter inserts with their high activated carbon content offer outstanding filter performance, which is achieved by minimising the use of binding agents without having to compromise on filter fineness and retention values compared to other suppliers. The excellent suitability of activated carbon in connection with the production of clean drinking water has been sufficiently proven. Where other manufacturers only use loose granulate in their filter cartridges, the Alvito activated carbon block technology offers two additional benefits: significantly larger contact surfaces of the activated carbon with the flowing water and the low pore thickness, which presses the water through the line pressure and thus blocks many particles and suspended solids. With a filter fineness of 0.45 μm, these pores are significantly smaller than a human hair, which has a diameter of around 100 µm in comparison. The ABF Primus CLC as a standard filter insert delivers better water every day for small and larger households at a very good price-performance ratio.
Imitation of natural depth filtration in Alvito filter inserts
During the production of the Alvito filter inserts in Germany, high-quality activated carbon is specially activated and manufactured or baked into a solid block in a complex sintering process. These block filters have an extraordinarily large number of extremely fine pores and channels through which the water flows during filtration. There is therefore no direct transit of the water through a filter cartridge that only uses activated carbon granulate. The water flows from pore to pore and therefore covers a much greater distance than the size of the block would suggest. The distance and surface area that the water comes into contact with as it flows through is estimated to be up to 100 football pitches. The surface area achieved with just one gram of activated carbon powder is 1,300 square metres. This achieves an effect comparable to natural depth filtration in the smallest of spaces.
Minerals are retained in the water
One advantage of these activated carbon block filter systems is that dissolved minerals such as magnesium, calcium and potassium remain in the water and the natural mineral balance is maintained. This is also the case with the Primus CLC. As described, these minerals are only changed in structure. These minerals remaining in the water can - especially in combination with the EM ceramics - have an extremely positive effect on the flavour of the water. In addition, the quality of the filter inserts means that there is no need to add silver for disinfection. The filter fineness does not allow any bacteria to pass through. The Duplex filter insert even retains viruses.
This innovative Alvito technology not only achieves outstanding filter performance, but the water flow rate of all four filters is so high that the WaterWhirler Viva can be operated with them.
