Product information "Maunawai Microsponge"
Maunawai Microsponge
The performance upgrade for every Kini jug. If you are in a situation where you need to filter water that contains a lot of suspended matter and even coarse dirt, the micro sponge is the right choice. The pore size of this special design is 1µm (1 millionth of a metre). Instead of the limescale pad, the sponge is used as a pre-filter stage and removes all suspended particles larger than 1µm, such as rust, sand and other particles. The removal of limescale is then omitted, however, as the sponge and limescale pads cannot be used at the same time. A second pass would be advisable here, as the pads and sponge can be replaced quite quickly.
Cleaning:
The micro-sponge can simply be washed out with lukewarm vinegar water (mixture: 1/3 table vinegar, 2/3 water).
Filter change intervals:
The more polluted the water to be filtered, the more often the micro sponge should be washed out. We recommend changing it after approx. 6 - 12 months.
