Raw food organic jackfruit
The evergreen jackfruit tree belongs to the mulberry family, although its fruits are anything but small mulberries in shape and size: The jackfruit, or nagka, can reach sizes of up to 1 metre in length with a diameter of 50 cm. They can weigh up to 10 to 15 kg. Because such immense fruits can hardly be carried by a branch, the jackfruit grows directly on the tree trunk. The jackfruit tree is native to tropical zones and India at altitudes of up to 1100 metres.

Jackfruit is said to have a diuretic, slightly laxative effect. As they contain a lot of water, are rich in minerals and fibre and, last but not least, taste good, jackfruit is a staple food in many Asian regions. The fruits contain many hexagonal individual fruits with seeds. The flesh and seeds of the jackfruit are edible.

Organically grown in Sri Lanka, our jackfruit is harvested and processed without any chemical additives or preservatives. At raw food temperatures below 40 °C, they undergo gentle drying and thus offer you the best flavour and highest quality.
