What should I do if I cannot tolerate celery juice?

But what if my body doesn't tolerate the celery juice and I notice unpleasant side effects?
If you still find that you don't tolerate celery juice well after a week and don't feel well after drinking it, this could be due to an allergy or the so-called initial aggravation.
During the initial aggravation, your body reacts to the amount of minerals and vital substances made available to it and cleansing processes begin, which can be unpleasant. Many people are already familiar with these cleansing processes, also known as detox, from a fasting programme. The second possibility for discomfort can be a food allergy to celery. It is therefore important to find out whether you cannot tolerate celery due to an allergy or whether it is the detox reaction mentioned above. But even if you are allergic to celery, it is possible, according to Anthony William, that this will no longer be the case after a certain period of time.
A good approach for stronger reactions is to start with a small amount of juice and then slowly increase it to give the body time to get used to it. Allergic reactions may even disappear completely after 3-4 weeks.
In such cases, you should listen to your body to find out whether you really cannot tolerate celery or whether it is an initial aggravation. If you find out that you are indeed allergic to celery, you should still consider starting the day with a freshly squeezed juice - even if it is not celery juice.
This juice can, for example, consist of kohlrabi, cucumber and beetroot and can be enhanced with a little lemon (preferably with peel) and ginger. Juices made from several types of vegetables provide our body with valuable minerals and antioxidants and are a sensible alternative to celery juice and a healthy start to the day.
You can experiment with juice blends to find out which vegetables are best for you. Fruit should play a subordinate role in the juice mixes due to its sugar content; 20% fruit and 80% vegetables is a good rule of thumb.
