What do I do if I don't like the taste of celery juice?
Nobody will probably question the fact that celery juice is healthy, but what if I can't cope with the flavour of celery juice?
Nobody will probably question the fact that celery juice is healthy, but what if I can't cope with the taste of celery juice? Rest assured: you are not in the minority, as most people initially have problems with the slightly salty and bitter flavour of celery juice. Drinking celery juice does indeed require a certain amount of effort in the first few days.
Of course, giving up celery juice completely is not a solution. Everyone should try out the effect of 500 ml of celery juice as a morning and daily ritual, at least for a certain period of time.
What can I do to still be able to enjoy the healthy green drink?
One way to achieve a less intense celery flavour would be to juice an apple or lemon alongside the celery to dilute the taste and incorporate a different, milder and fruitier flavour. But unfortunately this is not the solution, at least if celeriac pope Anthony William has his way.
Celery juice must always be drunk pure for the best possible effect, i.e. as pure celery juice.
Because mixed juices are not an option, I can make my own celery juice by removing the leaves. This is because the leaves add more bitterness to the juice than the stems. This gives me a juice that is slightly less bitter and slightly less tart.
The second option is simply to drink a little less celery juice - instead of the target amount of 500 ml for the first few days. For example, start with 200 or 250 ml and increase the amount by 50 ml every day until my taste has become accustomed to the new drink. You will notice an adjustment after just a few days. Many then even find the juice tasty and like its flavour. This adaptation happens sooner for some and a little later for others.
Once I have got used to the flavour, it will no longer be a problem to juice the leaves as well. The adaptation is supported by the positive and really noticeable effects of celery juice.
The positive feedback from Keimling Naturkost customers is overwhelming and suggests that you should definitely give the power of celery juice a try for a few weeks.
Conclusion:
Start with smaller quantities, remove the leaves if necessary, BUT please keep at it. It's really worth it, I promise!
